Suzuki e-Access Electric Scooter Now Launched Price, Range, Features and Market Impact

Suzuki Motorcycle India has officially entered the electric two-wheeler space with the launch of the Suzuki e-Access electric scooter, priced at Rs 1.88 lakh (ex-showroom). This marks a significant milestone for the Japanese manufacturer, as it brings the trusted Access brand into India’s rapidly expanding electric mobility segment. With rising fuel prices, stricter emission norms, and growing EV adoption, the e-Access is Suzuki’s answer to urban commuters looking for a reliable and premium electric scooter.

The launch of the e-Access places Suzuki in direct competition with established electric scooters such as the Bajaj Chetak, TVS iQube, Ather Rizta, and Ola S1 series. Instead of competing aggressively on price alone, Suzuki has positioned the e-Access as a well-engineered, durable, and technology-focused product.

Premium Pricing and Positioning

At Rs 1.88 lakh, the Suzuki e-Access sits in the premium end of the electric scooter market. While several rivals offer lower starting prices, Suzuki is clearly banking on brand trust, long-term reliability, and quality engineering to justify the cost. The pricing reflects a strategy focused on customers who value refinement, safety, and ownership peace of mind rather than just maximum range or flashy features.

Bookings for the Suzuki e-Access have already opened at select dealerships, and deliveries are expected to begin soon across major cities.

Battery, Motor and Performance

The Suzuki e-Access is powered by a 3.07 kWh Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery. LFP battery technology is known for better thermal stability, enhanced safety, and longer life cycles compared to conventional lithium-ion batteries. Suzuki claims that this battery can deliver significantly higher durability over years of usage, making it suitable for Indian weather and traffic conditions.

The battery is paired with an electric motor producing 4.1 kW of peak power and 15 Nm of torque. This setup ensures smooth and linear acceleration, which is ideal for stop-and-go city riding.

In terms of performance, the e-Access offers:

  • A claimed riding range of 95 km on a single charge
  • A top speed of 71 km/h, suitable for urban roads and short highway stretches

While the range may seem modest compared to some competitors, Suzuki has focused on consistent real-world performance rather than optimistic numbers.

Charging Options and Convenience

Suzuki has equipped the e-Access with both AC home charging and DC fast-charging support, adding flexibility for different types of users.

Using a standard home charger, the scooter can be fully charged in approximately 6 to 6.5 hours, making overnight charging convenient for daily commuters. With DC fast charging, the battery can be charged up to 80 percent in around 1 hour, while a full charge takes just over 2 hours.

To support this, Suzuki is gradually expanding its EV charging infrastructure across dealerships, ensuring better accessibility for customers.

Design and Build Quality

The Suzuki e-Access carries forward the familiar and practical design philosophy of the petrol Access scooter, while incorporating modern EV styling cues. The scooter features a clean and balanced design that appeals to a wide age group, from young professionals to family users.

Key design highlights include:

  • Full LED lighting setup
  • Dual-tone colour schemes
  • Stylish alloy wheels
  • Well-integrated battery placement for improved balance

Suzuki’s focus on build quality is evident in the fit and finish, panel alignment, and overall robustness of the scooter. The chassis has been designed to handle Indian road conditions while maintaining ride comfort.

Features and Technology

The e-Access comes loaded with modern features that enhance convenience, safety, and riding experience.

The scooter features a fully digital instrument cluster that displays speed, range, battery status, riding mode, and other essential information. Bluetooth connectivity allows riders to pair their smartphone with the scooter for added functionality.

Key feature highlights include:

  • Smartphone connectivity
  • Turn-by-turn navigation support
  • Three riding modes: Eco, Ride A, and Ride B
  • Reverse assist mode for easy parking
  • Regenerative braking system to improve efficiency

These features ensure that the e-Access remains competitive in a segment where technology plays a crucial role in buyer decisions.

Safety and Ride Comfort

Suzuki has also paid attention to safety and ride comfort. The e-Access is equipped with a stable suspension setup designed for city riding, offering a comfortable experience over uneven roads. Regenerative braking not only improves efficiency but also contributes to smoother deceleration.

The balanced weight distribution and predictable handling make the scooter suitable for daily commuting, even for new EV riders.

Warranty and Ownership Benefits

One of the strongest selling points of the Suzuki e-Access is its ownership package. Suzuki offers a 7-year or 80,000 km extended warranty, which significantly boosts buyer confidence. This long warranty period reflects Suzuki’s confidence in the durability of its battery and electric components.

Additionally, Suzuki is offering assured buyback options and loyalty benefits for existing customers, making the overall ownership experience more attractive.

Competition and Market Impact

The Indian electric scooter market is highly competitive, with brands focusing on either aggressive pricing or extended range. The Suzuki e-Access takes a more balanced approach, emphasizing quality, safety, and long-term reliability.

While some buyers may find the price high for the claimed range, others will appreciate Suzuki’s conservative engineering and focus on durability. For urban commuters who prefer a trusted brand and refined riding experience, the e-Access presents a compelling option.

Final Verdict

The Suzuki e-Access electric scooter, launched at Rs 1.88 lakh, represents a thoughtful and mature entry into India’s EV two-wheeler segment. It may not be the most affordable or the longest-range electric scooter, but it stands out with its strong build quality, reliable battery technology, comprehensive features, and attractive warranty package.

For buyers looking for a premium electric scooter backed by a trusted brand and designed for everyday urban use, the Suzuki e-Access is a strong contender that signals Suzuki’s long-term commitment to electric mobility in India.
